One of our descriptors is that PVBC is a church that "Grows Together." The majority of the time, we gather in mixed-age, mixed-gender groups. However, we must give time for men to gather exclusively with other men. Throughout the year, men will get together for special men-only events. These include:
Periodic Men's Breakfasts. Men will gather for mutual encouragement and sharing from the word before starting their day. These special events are announced when they occur.
Men's Morning Bible Study. A group of men met at Martin's coffee area at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings for a Bible study. We are currently looking for new leadership for this group.
Periodic Men's Fellowship Activities. Men will frequently gather for special events, such as skeet shooting, bonfires, or barbecues. These special events are announced when they occur.
Men are encouraged to participate in our regular groups programs on a regular basis and take advantage of the above events when they are presented.
If you are in Northern Indiana, please visit us! We don't do awkward first experiences here. Click on the button below to preview what your first visit with us can be. We can't wait to meet you!
Another opportunity for fellowship with other men is in a few of our service opportunities that draw more men than women (although not closed to women, should they choose to participate).
The following service teams would be great opportunities to work alongside other men and get to know them better while you do!
Car Care. Quarterly, men (and frequently their older children as well) meet at Global Auto in Warsaw on SR 15 on Saturday mornings to do basic maintenance on vehicles owned by widows, church members who need the help, or the church itself. It's a great way to practically help those who can't perform these tasks themselves, and it's a lot of fun as well! If larger issues show up during inspections, these issues are passed on to the Deacons for their help at another time.
Snow Removal. We have a contracted service company that clears our parking lot after it snows in preparation for Sunday morning or midweek services. However, we rely on our own men to clear sidewalks. It's a great way to help the body and get to know some of the men better while you do.
Landscape Team. In the spring and early fall, we ask a team of men to do major landscape activities beyond the regular maintenance that happens throughout the year. If you're interested, we'd love to have you help us!
Congregational ServiceTeam. Our Deacon ministry coordinates care for our members who need assistance throughout the year. Usually, these tasks are handled directly by the men on this board. However, from time to time, we run into larger jobs that need more hands. If you're available, we would love to be able to call on you for physical help from time to time.
